LEHMAN, Edouardine Irene (Eddie)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona April 2010 Edouardine Irene "Eddie" Lehman of Phoenix, Arizona passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Phoenix, April 9, 2010. Eddie was born January 10, 1921, to Floyd Lester and Estella Irene Lehman in New Winchester, Ohio. She was the first of their six children. Survived by one sister Laura Mertes, one brother Charles "Chuck" Lehman both of California, and nieces and nephews. Also many friends she called her Arizona family. Eddie grew up in Ohio and joined the WACS shortly after completeing her school days. After her military service she lived in California, later moved to Phoenix where she took a job with General Electric which later became Honeywell, she retired from Honeywell. After retirement she became involved helping out at the Sunnyslope Community Center working with other Seniors and going on all the trips to the casino at every opportunity. She lived her life to the fullest, enjoying everything with love, joy and laughter. Eddie had a host of close friends she loved spending time with, going out to dinner or her favorite potlucks and going to the movies, but most of all going to the casino with her casino group. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service May 15, 2010, 10AM, at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 West Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, Az. (access to the park is off of the frontage road at 7th street and the 101 freeway) A Celebration of Eddie's Life will follow call for directions, maps will be available at the park.
