Don B. "Nato" Rios, 80 of Claypool, passed away Friday, May 26, 2006, at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
He was born in Morenci on Oct. 22, 1925, the son of Dolores (Beltran) and Benito Rios. He went to school in Sonora, Arizona, and then started working for Kennecott Copper Corporation in 1943. In 1944, he joined the US Army, later earning an honorable discharge due to an illness. He worked in Miami Inspiration Mine and later moved to California where he worked at Freightliners until his retirement. In 1998, he moved back to Claypool where he made his home until his death.
Mr. Rios was a wonderful person loved by everybody he knew. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Rios leaves behind in loving memory his wife, Velia Bejarano Rios of Claypool; son, Daniel Rios and wife Elisha of Claypool; stepson, David Mesa of Globe; sisters, Paula Banda of Bakersfield, Frances Velez of Superior, Dolores Hinojos of Kearny and Nellie Ortiz and husband Modesto of Kearny; brother, Benito Rios and wife Nela of El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, several nieces, nephews and other family members.
The visitation and funeral services were held Saturday, June 3, at First Southern Baptist Church in Miami. Interment followed at Mt. Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Miami.
