Albert C. Lasseigne, passed away June 18, 2012 peacefully at his home in Lake Havasu City, with his wife, Bertha and daughter, Leslie, by his side. Al, as he was known to his family and friends, was born Dec. 27, 1921, in New Orleans, La., to Albert and Sophia (Miller) Lasseigne.
Following high school graduation, Al enlisted in the U.S. Navy Oct. 5, 1942, and was honorably discharged Oct. 29, 1945. Al then went to work for Rockwell International as a tool and die maker, retiring in 1979. After retirement, Al and his wife, Bertha, enjoyed creating various projects together, but his greatest passion was the stock market. Most of all, Al was an awesome husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 53 years and the love of his life, Bertha; daughters, Janice (Michael) Cramer and Leslie (Wayne) Mansell; grandchildren, Lance, Lisa, Jennifer, Stacie, Bryan, Matthew, Steven, Mike and Melissa as well as 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Steven Lasseigne. He will be dearly missed by his entire family. Rest in Peace “Honey and Daddy.”
Visitation will be Sunday at Lietz-Fraze Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place June 26, at 10 a.m. at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Graveside service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, Calif. Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy Military Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Hospice of Havasu in Al’s name.
