DILLOW, Sterling

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Tuesday, June 19, 2012 Sterling Dillow, 81, of Arlington died May 9, 2012, of lung cancer in Glendale. Mr. Dillow was born April 15, 1931, in Fairmont, W.V., to Opal and Walter. He served 16 years in the Navy. He met his wife, Elsie, on Dec. 31, 1954, and was married 11 days later. The family moved from California to Arizona in 1971 when he took a job with the Tolleson Waste Water Treatment Plant, where he remained until retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elsie. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Leyba and Debbie Robles; one son, Sterling E.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A military funeral with honors will be at 10 a.m. June 29 at Veteran National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. A celebration of his life will follow. Funeral arrangements were made by Abel Funeral Services.
