West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Friday, June 22, 2012 Joaquin R. Mendoza, 88, of Phoenix and formerly of Tolleson died June 19, 2012. Mr. Mendoza was born July 26, 1923, in Guadalajara, Mexico, to Rosa and Deonicio Rendon. He moved to Arizona in 1942, and was a farmer and ranch hand. He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Perez. He is survived by five daughters, Lynda Figueroa, Cyndee Chavez, Jacque Ayala, April Williams and Kim Broyles; two sons, Louis Rodriguez and Richard Mendoza; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. June 26 at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, 522 E. Western Ave. in Avondale, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery West, 6450 W.
