PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Percy De Voe Beyea, 97, of 2025 Estrella Road, formerly of Holden, Mass., died May 23 in Meadow Park Care Center after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Marie H. (Osborn) Beyea; four sons, Richard O. Beyea of Amarillo, Texas, George E. and Robert L. Beyea, both of Prescott, and John P. Beyea of Prescott Valley; three daughters, Grace O'Donnell of Crescent City, Calif., Ruth W. Grenier of Dayton, Nev., and Dorothy Harding of Meadeview; a brother, Murray Beyea in New Brunswick; two sisters, Violet Virgin of Billerica, Mass., and Mary Vaughn in New Brunswick; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His first wife, Ione Beyea, died in 1949. A son, Walter Beyea of Rutland, Mass., died about 1970. He was born in French Village, New Brunswick, son of John D. and Estella (Craft) Beyea, and came to the United States in 1924. He lived many years in Rutland and Holden, Mass., and 35 years in Prescott.
Mr. Beyea was a carpenter for 62 years. He worked for a construction company in West Boylston until the end of World War II. He was then a self-employed carpenter in the Worcester area and Arizona before he retired. He served in the Royal Canadian Army during World War I.
Graveside services were held May 26 in Prescott. Memory Chapel, 131 Grove Ave., directed arrangements.
