Gayle B. Wilson, age 91, passed away Sunday, June 17, at Angel’s Care Center in Cannon Falls, Min. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 27) at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, S.D., with visitation beginning 1 hour prior to the service.
Gayle Byrdine Lambert, daughter of Clarence and Mary (Hoffman) Lambert was born on August 19, 1920 in Ashton, S.D. She grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1939.
Gayle was united in marriage with Larry Wilson on February 7, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Min. The couple eventually settled in Randolph, Min., where they raised their three children. Gayle worked at the General Store in Randolph and was also a cook at the school. Gayle and Larry retired in Wickenburg where Gayle lived until 2009.
Gayle enjoyed walking with her friends, reading, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Gayle also enjoyed her many years as a volunteer at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Cheryl (Don) Koss of Sterling Heights, Mich.; Barbara Wilson of Mukilteo, Wash.; and her son Michael (Joyce) Wilson of Randolph, Min.; grandchildren Kari Furlong, Kris Wilson, Stephanie Buckmiller, David Koss, Mark Koss and McKenzie Wilson; great-grandchildren Nicklous and Natlie Buckmiller, and Cody and Sierre Furlong; her brother Don Lambert; sister Sally Linton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Gayle was preceded in death by her husband Larry in 1994, her parents Clarence and Mary, her brother Henry Lambert and her sister Mary Luther.
