Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Wednesday, June 27, 2012 Lupe J. Hernandez, age 75, of Miami, Ariz., passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Mesa, Ariz. She was born in Terreros, N.M. on March 5, 1937, the daughter of Erlinda (Gallegos) and Miguel Gonzales. Lupe was the second oldest of eight children and oldest girl of two. She was a member of Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church and supported church functions, activities and she crowned the Virgin Mary. Lupe always had her home open to anyone and was willing to help neighbors and friends. She was active with her children’s education and sports activities, often helped with homework and gave not only her children but other children rides home from sports practice. Lupe loved spending time with her family, sewing, embroidering, crocheting and cooking. Lupe leaves behind in loving memory her husband of 54 years, Baudilio (Lilo) Hernandez, whom she married on Jan. 4, 1958; one daughter, Theresa Ochoa of San Tan Valley, Ariz.; three sons, David Hernandez of Mesa, Ariz., Michael Hernandez (Laura) of Morgan Hill, Calif. and Richard Hernandez (Janice) of Mesa, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Ochoa of Mesa, Ariz., Elisa Ochoa of Gilbert, Ariz., Alan Ochoa Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., Brittany Ott of Ashville, N.C., Isabel Hernandez of Morgan Hill, Calif., Marcus Hernandez of Morgan Hill, Calif., Derek Hernandez of Morgan Hill, Calif., Joshua Salazar of San Tan Valley, Ariz., Jacob Hernandez of Mesa, Ariz. and Jenna Hernandez of Mesa, Ariz.; and five great-grandchildren; six brothers, Mike Gonzales of Las Cruces, N.M., George Gonzales of Globe, Ariz., Arthur Gonzales of Globe, Ariz., Johnny Gonzales of Miami, Ariz., Frank Gonzales of Globe, Ariz. and Bobby Gonzales of Miami, Ariz.; and one sister, Demy Brockman of Mesa, Ariz. Services were held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W. Sullivan St., in Miami, Ariz. Funeral arrangements for Lupe J. Hernandez were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Miami.
