WEST, Lucy

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Tuesday, July 03, 2012 Lucy West, age 76, passed away on June 24, 2012, peacefully at her home in Globe, Ariz. surrounded by loving friends and family, after a short battle with cancer. She was born July 7, 1935 in Oak Creek, Colo., and has been a resident of Globe for 45 years. She was employed by the State of Arizona taking care of the mentally disabled for many years and continued taking care of the elderly in need. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Lucy is survived by her two sons, Billy West of Phoenix, Ariz. and Bobby West (Bertha Linda) of San Antonio, Texas; and one daughter, Cloreena Dobbs (Rusty) of Globe, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Joseph West (Janyce) of Phoenix, Ariz., Billie West-Khan (Faizal) of Henderson, Nev., Heather Dobbs-Riccobono (Vinny) of Gilbert, Ariz., Bobby Dobbs of Globe, Ariz., and Aaron Dobbs of Globe, Ariz. (currently serving in the U.S. Army); four great-grandchildren, Robbie Dobbs, Andrew West, Patryck Dobbs, and Gabriella Riccobono; two brothers, Tony Nieto (Angie) of Denver, Colo. and Jesus Guerrero (Patty) of Grnad Junction, Colo.; one sister, Carmen Beck of Cedaredge, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her extended family includes Sanna (Crow) Castro and Sandy (Benny) Vines of Globe, Ariz. Lucy was a strong Christian woman and made her home at the Pentecostal Church, where she brought many friends to worship. She was the type of person that would drop anything to help a friends or family member as she truly cherished her relationship with them. She had a great personality, sense of humor, was very outgoing and in turn made many friends around the country. Her sense of humor made so many people laugh and put a smile on their faces. She had a passion for giving back and had a caring spirit that touched many people. She enjoyed working in her yard that had beautiful vines and cactus. She also enjoyed reading novels and writing in her diary. She collected Native American memorabilia and butterflies. Lucy is now in a better place and she wanted to leave our world with laughter, love and peace. Lucy requested that no services be held in her honor. May your grief pass swiftly, but your memories last forever...
