Charles (Charlie) W. Wayt, 71 of Show Low, Arizona died unexpectedly Thursday, June 28, 2012, after a tragic motocross accident at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in California.
He was born Jan. 14, 1941, in Pueblo, Colo. to Zola Mae and Paul Wayt.
Charlie served in the Marines and was honorably discharged in 1964 after serving four years. He enjoyed a 40 year career in the motion picture industry working with many celebrities including Clint Eastwood, Michael Douglas and John Travolta. Charlie married Kathy in 1969 in Lake Tahoe, California.
Charlie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a good friend to many. He was a true son of God and we rejoice that he is at home in the arms of Jesus.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Kathy; a daughter Kellie Wayt; sons: Robert, John and Jim Villa and their families; sisters: Burley Wayt Whitten and Pauline Sutton; eight grandsons; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul and sister Peggy.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Living Faith Covenant Church, 6700 Cheney Ranch Loop in Linden.
