Arthur E. (Jim) Cauthen, 84, passed away at his home in Prescott Valley, Ariz., on July 2, 2012. He was born Feb. 28, 1928, to the late James Arthur and Florence (Nicks) Cauthen in Clifton, Ariz.
Art attended school in Clifton and Eastern Arizona Community College and graduated from ASU. He met Pat Bacus while attending ASU and was married to her for 59 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Art worked for Firestone for 25 years and then began a second career with Quality Plastics as transportation manager, where he worked for 25 years. After retirement, at 78 years of age, he volunteered at Coyote Springs School in the Rocket Reader program.
Arthur is predeceased by grandson Michael Jenkins. He is survived by his wife Pat, three daughters and sons-in-law, Judi and John Jenkins, Susan and David Gordon and Sandra and Larry Klein; nine grandchildren Tom, Chris and Bailey Gordon, Allison, Kim and Michelle Jenkins and Jim, Jack and Avery Klein.
Those who wish may make donations to the Hospice of the Pines, Dewey, Ariz.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley.
