West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Friday, July 06, 2012 Max Boren, 91, of Buckeye died July 4, 2012. Mr. Boren was born in Pineville, Mo., and raised in Bentonville, Ark. He served in the Army for five years and was a World War II veteran. After being discharged, he attended college in Pittsburg, Kan., to pursue a career in the printing industry. He married Thelma Lorine "Willie" on Aug. 10, 1947, in Claremore, Okla. He became a printer and was active in the American Legion and Elks Lodge for more than 60 years. He and his family moved to California in 1960. In the late 1980s, he retired to Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Thelma Lorine. He is survived by two daughters; two sons; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. July 22 at Ganley's Buckeye Funeral Home, 104 E.
