Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, July 5, 2012 - Wendy Sue Holsopple, wife, mother, daughter and friend, passed away at the age of 47 June 27, 2012 in Quartzsite, Ariz. She was born on April 13, 1965, in Maine, to Lee and Norma (Prescott) Mathews. Wendy lived in Havasu with her husband, Glenn, and their golden retriever, Chance (the little girl). She passionately supported her daughters, Kaila and Cierra's activities and goals and inspired them to achieve their best throughout life. She enjoyed scuba diving, water skiing and anything that brought her near the water. Wendy was employed by Hospice of Havasu at the Polidori House, where she extended her compassionate care giving to all those who needed her. She loved the outdoors and gardening, which is a reflection of her home. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and know that her loving spirit will always be with them. Wendy is survived by her loving husband, Carl Glenn Holsopple, of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Cierra and Kaila Petersen, of 29 Palms, Calif.; parents, Lee and Norma Mathews, of Ensenada, Mexico; and brother, Brian Williams, of Columbus, Ohio. All are welcome to attend a celebration of Wendy's life at 4 p.m. today, in the Hospice of Havasu Conference Room, 232 London Bridge Road (located adjacent to the Hospice of Havasu resale store. Visitors are welcome at Wendy and Glenn's home, 850 Sand Dab Road, throughout the weekend. Casual attire is welcome and expected. In lieu of flowers, a fund for Cierra and Kaila entitled, "Wendy's Dreams for her Daughters fulfillment fund,” has been established in Wendy’s name at Wells Fargo bank (acct# 7760937826).
