MORELAND, Ernest J.

Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood, Arizona Ernest J. Moreland, 91, of Clarkdale died June 25, 2012. He was born March 21, 1921 in Niagra Falls, New York, the son of John and Henereta Moreland. He attended Niagra Falls High School. Mr. Moreland served his country in the Navy in the Construction Batallion ("the Seabees"). He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and in the Phillipine Liberation. He worked for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #237 in Niagra Falls as an electrician. He had worked as the General Foreman of the Niagra Hydro Electrical Power Project. Mr. Moreland was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. His hobbies included bird watching and wood carving. He leaves a son Richard Moreland; daughter in law Tamara Moreland; grandson David Moreland; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14 in Cottonwood Village at 5 PM. VFW Post #7400 will provide military honors. An online guestbook is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
