Monty Bob Moore, 86, passed away June 24, 2012 in Hemet, Calif. He was born Aug. 24, 1925 in Memphis, Texas.
Monty grew up in West Texas but moved to Southern California with his family in his early teens.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and then again during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for the Department of Water and Power in Southern California for 28 years, retiring in 1979 as Superintendent of the Haynes Steam Plant. After retirement, he went to work at Service Master Company for ten years. He was the Director of Engineering Systems at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
Monty was an avid fisherman and built his vacation home in Lake Havasu City in 1991. He had been coming to Lake Havasu since the 1950s.
Monty was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margie, in 1999.
He is survived by his two sons, Monty C. (Helen), of Lake Havasu City and Larry D. (Robyn), of Sutter, Calif.; his four grandchildren, Wendy Muller, of Surprise, Monty (Vicky) Scott, of Lake Havasu City, Michelle (Jeff) McLarty, of Long Beach, Calif. and Megan (Michael) Carter, of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Moore, Taylee Muller and Michael Muller of Surprise.
He was interred beside his wife of 44 years at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. June 30, 2012.
