Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary Scottsdale, Arizona Marcie Marie Mitchem July 5, 2012 Marcie Marie McInnis Mitchem, 41, of Phoenix, AZ died Thursday July 5, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley, Scottsdale, AZ. Marcie was born in Flint, MI and moved to AZ in 1981. She graduated from Horizon High School and on to college and graduated from ASU, then finished a Masters degree at NAU. She used her degree to become a counselor in middle school and finished her career art Trevor G. Brown High School where she put every ounce of her passion into the kids, helping them to get scholarships for college and especially passionate about the ROTC program, including placement in the military academies. She was an avid quad rider out in the California dunes always keeping up with the guys. She loved her pilates and the community of friends there that she cherished. Her favorite time of year though was when she could go back to Michigan in the summer and be with her very large family of grandparents, aunts and uncles and many cousins. She is survived by her husband, Stephan A. Mitchem; mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Gerald Mitchem of Scottsdale, AZ, mother, Deborah J. Worsley Girard (Robert) of Phoenix, AZ; preceded in death by her father Larry Leo McInnis; survived by sisters, Amy McInnis and Abigail McInnis both of Phoenix, AZ; step brother, Andy Girard (Namay) of Mammoth Lakes, CA; grandmother, Laura McInnis of Flint, MI; grandmother and grandfather, Leonard and Lorraine Worsley of Davison, MI; uncles, aunts, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved boxers, Cason and Tatum. Visitation will be held from 2-8PM, Sunday, July 8, 2012, Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale. Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM, Monday, July 9, 2012 with her Uncle, Father Gary McInnis officiating. There are no words to describe how she will be missed by her family and friends. She was the light of our lives.
