Willie Fred Powell Sr. was born in Ada, Okla. on Sept. 6, 1948 and went home to Jesus on July 3, 2012. He was born to parents Willie Floyd Powell and Blanche Powell. 

Willie leaves behind a wife, Linda Powell; three sons, Willie Jr. of Globe, John Powell of Globe, and David Powell of Globe; one daughter, Penny Powell of Wyoming; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He also has three sisters, La Vonne Stringer of Globe, Wilma Henton of New Mexico, and Leeta Penrod of Globe. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

Willie worked at the mine for 38 years and retired in 2004.

Memorial services will be Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Central Heights Baptist Church at 3 p.m.
