CARTER, Mark Stevens


Mark Stevens Carter, 53, of Prescott Arizona, died unexpectedly while on duty with Phoenix Fire Department, June 4th, 2007, at Mayo Clinic Hospital. He was a 16-year veteran, serving as both a fire engineer and paramedic at station 37. Mark will always be remembered as a devoted husband, proud loving father and grandfather, and a true hero to everyone. His sense of humor and contagious smile will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Leah Carter; mother Margie Bottenfield; daughters Melissa O'Shields, Amy Divine, Shelly McWhorter and Mindy McWhorter; granddaughter Taylor Mize, and numerous family members. In lieu of flowers contributions should be made in his name to the United Phoenix Firefighters' c/o David Fisher 61 E. Columbus Phoenix, AZ 85012. Services were held Saturday June 9th, 2007 at Valley Cathedral 6225 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix AZ with Father Carl along with a traditional firefighters' procession.
