Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Monday, July 9, 2012 - Grace J. Holappa, 90, passed away July 3, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Detroit, Mich. Grace was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Lake Havasu City 12 years ago. She was a member of the London Bridge Women’s club. Grace worked for the Navy during World War II and went on to work for Southfield Public Schools for 20 years until her retirement. Her retirement years were spent traveling, until settling in Lake Havasu and pursuing interests in ceramics, bingo and club activities. Grace is survived by her sons, Dale A. (Iva) Diehl and John E. (Kathy) Holappa; daughter, Jennifer (Joseph) Bell; grandchildren, Meghan Bell Comer, Rebecca Bell, Garrett Diehl and Nathan Diehl; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Maya Comer; and her brother, Richard Higginbotton.
