The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona August 2011 Captain Greg R. Johnston, U.S.N.R., Ret., 78, of Sun City West, AZ, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011. Raised in Chicago, Greg was a pilot with the U.S. Navy for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Diamond Club Charitable Organization and worked spring training in Peoria for 14 years. He played softball with the Sun City West Men's Softball League and the Over 70's League for many years. He is survived by his wife, Dolly; daughters, Karen (Kennedy) and Gail (Seth); four grandchildren: Kate, Payton, Jack and Harper; four step-daughters: Susan, Carolyn, Tara and Kate and their children, Jessica, Phoebe, Emma and Aidan.
