WASHINGTON, Ethel Mae

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Friday, July 13, 2012 Ethel Mae Washington, 62, of Avondale died June 16, 2012, at Banner Estrella Medical Center in west Phoenix. Mrs. Washington was born July 31, 1949, in Barrino, N.M., to Lanier and Rebecca. She attended Avondale Elementary School and was a graduate of Agua Fria High School. She married Ivan E. Watkins Sr. on June 3, 1968. She worked for the state of Arizona for many years. She is survived by her mother, Rebecca; two daughters, Darla and Anitra; one son, Ivan Watkins Jr.; four brothers, Curtis of Waddell, Jerry of Glendale, Donald of Phoenix and Douglas of Waddell; three sisters, Charlene Jackson of Yuba City, Calif., Julia Pless of Waddell and Mary; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held June 23 at Word of Abundant Life Christian Center in Phoenix.
