CUMMINGS,
Sandra (Candy) Ann
Sandra (Candy) Ann Cummings passed away on March 30, 2004 after a brave battle against pancreatic cancer.
Candy was born on May 4, 1936 to Arthur F. and Ann High Cummings.
She grew up in Goshen, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University. While working in Corvallis, Oregon, she met Al Van Duyn, a pilot in the USAF, and they married. They had four children. She would continue her education by earning three Master's degrees and was three hours short of finishing her fourth. She loved to read, sing and play the piano. Her illness forced her to sell her home in Globe and retire from her job as a school counselor on the San Carlos Indian Reservation. She was an unforgettable woman and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Novak (Stanley) of Phoenix, Monica Van Duyn of Glendale, Wendy Van Duyn-Connelly (Edward) of Phoenix, and son William Scott Van Duyn of Phoenix. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah, Andrew and Hannah Novak.
A Memorial service was held on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 185 E. Oak Street, Globe. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
