LEIBOW,
Stanford J.
Stanford J. Leibow, 69, of Scottsdale, passed away on April 1, 2004.
At the age of 6, playing the violin and viola became his love and, later, his profession. His musical career was highlighted by performances in motion pictures; the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra; Hollywood Bowl Symphony; U.S. Air Force Orchestra and Strolling Strings in Washington, D.C.; Denver Symphony; and several major Las Vegas hotel showrooms. Most recently, he performed with the Scottsdale Symphony as principal viola, the Symphony of the West Valley, Musica Nova, and with numerous string quartets and groups. A gifted teacher, he particularly enjoyed instructing young musicians.
Stan was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
The music of his spirit lives on through Susan, his loving wife of 44 years, and his son Sherman, daughter-in-law Anne and granddaughters Emma and Michala.
Private services were held. Memorial contributions can be made to the Southwest Wildlife Rehabilitation and Educational Foundation, PMB 115, 8711 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85255; or to the Arizona Humane Society, 1521 W. Dobbins Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85041.
