Robert Lee “Bob” Stewart, age 79, of Globe, Ariz. passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012. He was born in Santa Rita, N.M. on Sept. 13, 1932, the son of Cora (Forguson) and Kenneth M. Stewart.
Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member and a deacon of Trinity Baptist Church since 1966. Bob and Josephine were foster parents for five years and have worked with Southeast Gila Globe-Miami Special Olympics for 15 years.
Bob enjoyed gardening and working odd jobs; he loved being with his family, telling his war stories, hunting and fishing with them.
He was preceded in death by one son, Paul Stewart, and his parents.
Bob leaves behind in loving memory his wife, Josephine Stewart of Globe, Ariz.; four sons, Mark Stewart of Globe, Ariz., Matthew Stewart of Reno, Nev., Joseph D. Stewart of Globe, Ariz. and Joey Stewart of Globe, Ariz.; one daughter, Naomi Stewart-Russo and her husband James of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Roger Stewart of Crest View, Fla.; one sister-in-law Dorothy Stewart of Globe, Ariz.; one daughter-in-law Nancy Stewart of Sparks, Nev.; five grandchildren, Amber Jansen, Matthew Stewart, Jr., Joseph Lee Stewart, Shelby Russo and Taylor Nicole Stewart; and one great-grandchild, Kaydence Jansen.
Memorial Service with a luncheon to follow, will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1364 S. Hagen Road, Globe, Ariz.
Funeral arrangements for Robert L. “Bob” Stewart were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services, Globe.
