Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, July 17, 2012 - Bob Tansy, “Dutch”, passed away in his home July 4, 2012 where he gained his independence from this world. He was accompanied by his beloved and constant companion, Sable, aka Seuee. They will be together forever but missed by all that knew and loved them. Bob was born April 30, 1948. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Tansy; sister, Nancy (Paul) Currie; son, Ryan; stepson, Dustin; stepdaughter, Toni; three nieces, Twila and her spouse, Chris, Leah and Jana. His father, Bob, preceded him in March 2012. Bob served two combat tours during Vietnam as a combat engineer where he earned the distinguished Purple Heart during the Tet Offensive. He was honorably discharged as a Spec 5 Aug. 1, 1973. Thank you for your service to our country, Dutch. Bob was known for being a shade-tree mechanic up on his hilltop, where payment was not monetary but usually in the form of Miller High Life. To those that knew him he would work endlessly, for next to nothing more than a simple thank you and a hand shake. There will be a celebration of his life at his home where he resided for approximately 30 years in Lake Havasu on July 27, from 4-8 p.m. Join us and share your memories, shed a tear, crack a beer and let’s live his legacy as he would want us to.
