DAYONOT, Ted


Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from July 15 to July 22, 2012 - Ted Dayonot, age 58, an 8-year resident of Fort Mohave, Ariz., passed away peacefully in his home after a short illness, on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Ted was born in Manila, Philippines, on April 20, 1954. His family moved to Seattle, Wash., when he was 7 months old. When Ted was in his teens, the family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California. In 1974, Ted joined the Army and was with the military police at Fort Ord, Calif., until 1977. He worked in security positions until he was employed by Lockheed Martin as a graphic designer, where he worked for 12 years. He then worked as a security supervisor for three different companies. After his move to Arizona in 2004, Ted worked in Security at the Avi Resort and Casino, delivered appliances for Sears, taught first aid and CPR for the American Red Cross, and worked at Desert Lanes. Ted had a long time interest in martial arts and was a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He retired in 2007, so that he and his wife, Martha, could enjoy more dancing, bowling and other activities. He also liked karaoke. Most people knew him to be friendly and helpful. Ted leaves behind his wife of 10 years, Martha; three daughters; and a large, close family. No services will be held. Ted will be laid to rest at Desert Lawn Cemetery.
