Margaret (Maggie) Nelson Richarz, with loving memories of our mother, daughter, sister and friend who passed away on July 19, 2012, we share a few thoughts on her life.
Maggie moved to Prescott, Ariz., in the early 1980s with her young son, Kyle. As a registered nurse, she worked at Yavapai Regional Medical Center and for the past two decades at the Northern Arizona Veteran's Hospital. Born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa, to Robert and Alice Richarz. Margaret graduated from East High School, going on to receive her nursing degree from the Methodist Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital. Margaret's father and mother relocated to Prescott in the mid 1980s, where her mother currently resides in Margaret and son, Kyle's home. Kyle also calls Portland, Ore., his home for the past 10 years.
Being a mother was Margaret's first and constant joy. Her son reflects her quiet, yet passionate sense of respect and love for all people she meets and for the beauty of nature, that surrounds her. To have known Maggie as one of her family or as one of her friends is to have known an exceptional human being. Your gifts and kindness over the past weeks reflect Margaret's ways and recognize her impact on the lives of others.
She gave her smile and her quick wit at every opportunity with a hug thrown in for good measure. You do her a great honor when you continue her loving, peaceful spirit as she did, or tried to do, throughout her life. May the memory of our mother, daughter, sister and friend continue through your good works and actions.
A memorial service will take place for her family as they come together to remember her life. Her family asks you to remember Margaret by giving of your time and talents to your favorite cause or hers, The Humane Society, in her name.
Thank you for the love you have shown her son, Kyle; her mother, Alice; her brother, Bob; her sisters, Lynn, Kay and Tracy; and her brother-in-laws, Darrell, Greg and Mike. Her many nephews, her niece, her cousins and her Aunt Eleanor who have been supportive in her lifetime share our loving thoughts of our dearest one, Margaret.
