Star-Herald (Scottsbluff NE) Sunday, July 8, 2012 Patty Miskimen passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 4th, 2012 with her daughters and beloved friend by her side. She was 80 years old. She was the daughter of Arthur L (Pat) and Evelyn (Handyside) Connelly. She was born at Memorial Hospital in Dalton on April 28, 1932. She lived in Dalton until she graduated from 8th grade. She attended St Agnes Academy in Alliance as a boarder during her high school years graduating in 1949. In the fall of 1949 she entered St Joseph School of nursing at Alliance and graduated in the class of 1952, the last class to graduate from St Joseph. Having attained her RN license she continued working at St Joseph Hospital. She married Louis Miskimen on May 18, 1954 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They were married 56 years living on the family farm before moving to Crossroads Assisted Living in September 2010. Louis was called to his heavenly home on October 29, 2010. Patty was a registered nurse working for 25 years at St Joseph Hospital. She was a RSVP member, Franciscan Associate, Altar Society member, Arts Council Member and Carnegie Arts Center Member. She and Louis were active members of Holy Rosary Parish. She is survived by her daughters, Diane and Roddy Bieber of Rockwall, Texas, Sharon and Tom Struckman of Brule, NE and Linda and Kent Fritzler of Alliance. She is survived by her grandchildren, Adrienne and Kody Hergert of Rockwall, Texas, Brett and Katie Bieber of Lincoln, Janice and Stacy Ayers of Lincoln, Shane and Katie Struckman of Lincoln, Lindsey and Jared Jollensten of Gretna, Tanner and Krista Struckman of McCook, Brittany Fritzler and Nathan Fritzler of Alliance. Patti has nine great Grandchildren, Ainsley and Brynley Hergert, Madysen, Parker and Londyn Ayers, Emma and Bree Struckman, Ryler Jollensten and Khloe Fritzler. Her brother Larry and wife Donna Connelly of Black Canyon City, Ariz., nephew Mike Connelly of Brighton, Colo., her brother-in-laws Robert and Fae Miskimen of Bella Vista, Ark., Ernie and Rosa Miskimen of Minatare, Harvey and Grace Miskimen of Jefferson City, Miss. and sister-in-law Marie and Harry Safford of McGrew, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one-year-old son, Thomas Duane in 1957 and her husband Louis in 2010, her brother Jerry Connelly and wife Bonnie for Farmington, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10am on Monday July 9th with Fr. Lou Nollette and Fr. Bryan Ernest officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be Sunday at 7pm at Holy Rosary Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 5pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to St Agnes Foundation or Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Bates-Gould Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
