The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/24/2012 Evelyn Regina Standing In loving memory of mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt and friend Evelyn Regina Standing died July 16, 2012, at the Whiteriver Indian Hospital. She was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Whiteriver. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Standing; two granddaughters: Darrilyn and Diayne Harvey; two god-daughters: Anna Secakuku and Darrilyn Poke; sister, Myra Hawkins; two brothers: Mercer Standing JR and Roy Standing; traditional godmother Ruth Alchesay Goklish; seven nieces: Sharon Walker, Royce Payne, Nesa Standing, Caroline Standing, Mavis Seeds, Merceline Standing and Nevelyn Standing; five nephews: Micheal Standing, Joe Standing JR, Alfred Brooks, Eddie Standing, Jim Jack Standing and Jason Zahgotah, as well as many other relatives and friends. Her body was returned to her home in Whiteriver Saturday, July 21 for a two night wake. A home service was held Monday, July 23, with Father Ed Fronske of St. Francis Catholic Church offficating.
