(Maiden Name: Clark)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, July 25, 2012 Leslie Maureen Clark McCardle, age 61, passed away July 19 after her seven-year battle with breast cancer. She was at home with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born in Fairfield, Calif., June 3, 1951, to Arnold and Bettye Clark. She is survived by her husband Jack of 38 years, her two children Melissa James (son-in-law Gene James) and Jake McCardle (daughter-in-law Mayumi Miki); her three grandsons Keilan and Logan James, and Akio Miki McCardle; two sisters Laura Scalabrino and Leigh Webster; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends galore. Leslie loved her family and considered them her proudest accomplishment in life. She was a lover of history, especially family, and was active in Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of Union Veterans (of the Civil War) and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She enjoyed the outdoors and sharing Arizona with friends and family while camping, hiking or jeeping. She was a kind and considerate person who was always able to think of others in special ways and do small things for them just to make them smile. Her kind and generous soul as well as her wonderful smile and spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will live on in our hearts and minds forever. A celebration of her life for friends and family will be planned in about a year in Wickenburg as well as her hometown, Vacaville Calif. Our family wishes to thank the many involved in the care of our beloved Leslie. Doctors, RNs, CNAs, and Hospice of the Valley all made this difficult time for us as easy as was possible. She sings with the angels now and watches over us all with her love shining bright.
