RALPH EDWIN WIGHT
RALPH EDWIN WIGHT, 93, died at his home in Peoria, Ariz., Friday, May 27, 2005. Born February 2, 1912, in British East Africa, to Olara and William Wight, he came to the U.S. in 1925, living first in Detroit, then in Wheaton, Ill.
He was graduated from Wheaton College in 1933 and was employed by the Medical Protective Company.
He and Vivien Peterson married in Williams Bay, Wis., in 1936. The couple moved to Fort Wayne in 1940 with the relocation of Medical Protective Company.
He was a member of First Missionary Church, where he sang in the choir and served as treasurer. He retired in 1975 and he and Vivien enjoyed years of travel to many parts of the world.
He is survived by his daughters, Margaret (Richard) Falb of Rhode Island and Marita Grassman and Larry Williams of Oregon; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive; Dean and Nancy Falb, Michael, Katherine, Meredith, Rachel and William of Massachusetts, David and Wendy Falb and Karl and Peter of Michigan, Daniel and Susan Falb, Rebecca, David and Rachel of Illinois, Rebecca and Brent Gates, Anneka, Allison, Maya and Benjamin of Massachusetts and Peter and Jennifer Falb, Sarah and Hannah of Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivien, in 2004; and his son, James, of New Mexico, in 1998.
Services were held Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, Ariz.
