Robert “Bobby” Thompson, 85, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at his home in Eagar. He was born June 15, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Luther and Goldie Thompson.
Robert served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII and Korea. He was a chef most of his life. Robert was a good and loving father, grandfather and companion, having helped many people. He loved fishing and was referred to as “Blue Gill Bob.” He passed on his love of fishing to his two grandchildren and helped numerous people, over the years, at the Local Alcoholic Rehabilitation Center in Tucson.
Robert is survived by his companion, Anna Fay Steighner of Eagar; son Michael Mulledy of Tucson; daughter Patricia Cooper, Marana; cousin Robert E. Lee of Green Valley; grandchildren: William (Sarah) Cooper, Mary Cooper; and great-granddaughter Abigail Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janet and wife Dorthey M. Thompson.
