Mr. Barrett was born Sept. 21, 1958, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Valcleta and Marvin Sr. He moved to Arizona as an infant and attended local schools. He worked at various farms in the West Valley, was a security guard at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station and had a paper route. He is survived by his mother, Valcleta; one sister, Brenda Bruehl; two brothers, Wayne and David; five children, Wade, Jeremiah, Barndi, Carol-Ann and Michael; and several grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ganley's Buckeye Funeral Home, 104 Baseline Road in Buckeye. Memorials can be made to a Wells Fargo bank account set up in the name of Marvin C.
