TRYON, James (Charlie)

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Tuesday, July 31, 2012 James “Charlie” Tryon, age 53, of Mesa, Ariz. passed away on July 20, 2012. He was born on March 17, 1959 to James E. Kelly and Patricia Dry. James married Reta Fountain in Miami, Ariz. He worked as a Product Support Manager for 31 years. James graduated from Miami High School and was a member of the Mission Community Church. For over 20 years Charlie and his family vacationed each summer at beautiful Lake Powell. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and trips in his Baja buggy. In recent years, Charlie spent most summer weekends at their property east of Show Low four wheeling, fishing and enjoying time with family. Charlie and Reta celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in May vacationing in Maui, Hawaii. They both felt the week was a perfect celebration of their 35 years together not knowing it was actually their happy ending. Charlie also enjoyed his last trip to Lake Powell in early July, where he taught his daughter how to filet fish. Some of the happiest days of Charlie’s life during the last two years was being “Papa” to his grandson, Adam. He was blessed to be able to attend Adam’s second birthday on July 15. Charlie was known for his kind, generous heart and always being available to help those he loved. However, his most enduring quality was his laugh - it lifted the hearts of those around him. He is survived by his wife, Reta Fountain Tryon; his children, Christopher Tryon, Andrew and Cassandra Ritter; his grandchild, Adam Ritter; his sister, Glenda Hodges; his mother, Patricia Nowell; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, James Kelly, and his brother, David Tryon. Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Red Mountain Community Church, officiated by Pastor Carlyle Naylor.
