HAMMOND, Patrick Linn


The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Thursday, August 02, 2012 Patrick Linn Hammond (1947 ~ 2012) Patrick Linn Hammond, 65, entered into peace on Monday, July 30, 2012 after battling ALS for three years at his Lake Montezuma home. He started his career at his fathers flooring company, but at age 40, took on the challenge of starting his own successful business, Desert Sun Floor Covering. He strived hard his whole life to support his family. He worked as a Flooring Contractor for Mountain Bell, Honeywell and through out the state for over 46 years. His attention to detail, integrity and work ethic made him the best flooring contactor in the west. He was one of three sons born to Virgil Ross & Thelma Louise (Chenoweth) Hammond on May 24, 1947 in Peoria, Ill. He lived in Arizona for 62 years. Although he loved to work he also greatly enjoyed getting out into the Arizona back country camping, hiking, four wheeling and exploring. He attended grade school at Kenilworth and Tavan. Graduated from Paradise Valley High School. Received his associate Arts Degree at Glendale Community Collage and transferred to ASU for one year. He is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years Deborah Rose (Dobbs) Hammond, and his 2 children: Christine Louise Lancaster and Daniel Linn Hammond and his two brothers Joel Wayne Hammond and David Allen Hammond.
