Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory Wickenburg, Arizona John C. Sheets January 8, 1926 ~ July 28, 2012 John C. Sheets, Jr., age 86. passed away July 28, 2012 at his home in Congress, Arizona. John was born in Memphis, New York to James C. and Fannie Irene Sheets. He served in the Army Air corps during WWII. John had worked with the railroad and later for the United States Postal Service for years. Upon retiring he and his wife Charlotte traveled and enjoyed RV-ing before settling in Arizona. John was a member of the American Legion Post 79 in Yarnell. ~~~~~~~~~ The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, August 08, 2012 John Carson Sheets graduated to heaven on July 28. He was born Jan. 8, 1926 in Memphis, N.Y., the only son of John and Fanny Sheets. He is survived by his loving wife Charlotte and his four children John Sheets (Jacquie) from Kissimmee, Fla.; Irene Davis (Kent) from Eugene Ore.; Kathleen (Mike) Obermann from Holley, N.Y.; and Christine Dabney (Charles) from Raleigh, N.C.; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and graduated from Syracuse University in 1955. He worked for Crouse Hinds in Syracuse before moving to Jacksonville, Fla., to work for Signal Engineering. From there he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. Upon retirement he and his wife became semi-affluent street people - RVing all over the United States, settling at North Ranch AZ. After joining the Escapees RV club, John became a rainbow builder helping to build North Ranch. A private family service was held Wednesday, Aug. 1.
