PIERGALLINI, Louie

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, August 04, 2012 Louie Piergallini After a five-year battle with cancer, Louie Piergallini passed away at his ranch in Williamson Valley, Ariz., Thursday Aug. 2, 2012. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Karla; his beloved children, Ronda Piergallini and sons Louis Jr. and Achille William; a brother, Mario Piergallini; his family in San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren, Luigi III, Jessica and Joy; along with his family of horses and animals. An avid horseman, Louie showed his Arabian Stallion Sir Channask to many regional Championships and was the proud owner of U.S. National Champion, Tazzic. Louie was an active member of the Valley of The Sun Arabian Horse Association and past member of the Laveen Lions Club. Louie retired after 32 years as superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for Maricopa County and began his career as owner of Silk Oaks Arabians and Horse Bedding where he made many friends, both human and equine. He always had a minute to check on how that old gelding was holding up, if the new arrival was a filly or a colt or if his customer had won that elusive Blue Ribbon at the last show. Louie and his family rescued many neglected and unwanted horses as well as a houseful of dogs and cats. There are no words to describe our love for him nor the heartbreak we feel. We know however, that he is with his God, surrounded by his many animals. Family and friends will gather at his barn to celebrate his accomplishments and life. Date and time to be announced. No flowers please, give a carrot in his name to your favorite horse or a small remembrance to either Circle L. Ranch Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (928) 925-1926 or Hacienda De Los Milagros (928) 533-0684. Please visit www.heritagemortuary.com to sign Louie's online guestbook. Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary. Information provided by survivors.
