Margaret Hampton Reineberg, a resident of Arizona for 44 years was born on May 21, 1920 in Buchanan, Michigan and died in Tucson, Arizona on June 5, 2009. She was raised by loving parents, Morton and Ruth Hampton both devoted school teachers. Margaret grew up on a farm in Berrien County, Michigan, and her love of animals and flowers naturally followed her rural upbringing. Margaret's early schooling took place in a one-room school house called Central School Bainbridge #7. She was a 1937 graduate and Salutatorian of Galien High School in Michigan.She attended Western Michigan College and graduated as a registered nurse in 1941 from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in South Bend, Indiana. Margaret enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II and attained the rank of First Lieutenant. While she was in the service she met and married the love of her life, Edward A. Reineberg. They were married on October 18, 1945 in Tampa, Florida and they celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in 1994. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Edward. She continued life without him for more than fourteen years. One of Margaret and Edward's greatest accomplishments was raising their four children, while living in Pennsylvania and Arizona. Margaret moved to Arizona in 1965 along with her family. Edward and Margaret owned and operated the A&W Drive-In in Eloy for over ten years. As a young woman Margaret soloed in a Piper Cub Airplane. She was a member of the Eloy Women's Club and served as President for two terms. She was a 43-year member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. She served on the Eloy Airport Commission. In later years, Margaret and her dear friend Barbara Wood entertained seniors at the Toltec Senior Center. Margaret is survived by her two sisters, Kathryn (Hampton) Lozmack of Galien, Michigan and Marlene (Hampton) Gwilt of Liberty, Indiana; four children including Edward Jere Reineberg, of Cottonwood, AZ; Linda (Reineberg) Gonzalez of Tucson, Arizona; Bette (Reineberg) Chavez of Eloy, AZ and Patrice (Reineberg) Visic of Mesa, AZ. She has nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services will be held on 9:00 am June 10, 2009 at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Eloy, AZ followed by burial at Eloy Memorial Park.
