The body was brought to Wickenburg by C M Shannon, embalmed and forwarded to relatives in Wenden. ~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona State Miner (Wickenburg AZ) Friday, November 21, 1919, p 1:5 A A Ray, operator of the U.S. Mine south of here was a visitor here Wednesday, and gave a very clear and logical explanation of the unfortunate accident that caused the death of Francis Lucero last month. It appears that the victim must have forgot to clear the cable in changing the hook from one bucket to another and the force of the impact of the bucket and its load in being jerked across the shaft after he signaled to hoist must have been responsible for the accident that caused death. No one was with Lucero at the time as he was working alone in the shaft.
