Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Sunday, August 12, 2012 Mrs. Mildred P. Oberhardt April 12, 1923 - July 28, 2012 In Loving Memory of Mildred P. Oberhardt Mildred P. Oberhardt, 89, Indianapolis, passed away July 28, 2012. She was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Herbert and Estelle Blumenthal. Mildred married Max Oberhardt on February 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death in May of 1978. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Sidney and Albert Blumenthal. Mildred spent the last 20+ years as a volunteer at the Veteran’s Hospital of Indianapolis. She received numerous awards for her service. Mildred is survived by her son, Bob Oberhardt (Sherry); and daughter, Joanne Hiteshew (Bill); grandsons, Jeff Hiteshew (Amber), Grant Tozer (Anne), Brandon Oberhardt (Stacey); great-grandsons, Brody, Trey and Nolan Hiteshew, and Tanner Oberhardt. She also leaves behind many friends – she never met a stranger! From 1971-2012, she was a frequent visitor to Flagstaff to see her family and friends. It was one of her great joys to come to Flagstaff. As a world traveler, the sights of northern Arizona were a continual thrill for her.
