Alton Brooke Plunkett Jr. of Manasquan, N.J., passed away on July 24, 2012, with his family at his bedside. Mr. Plunkett was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Alton Brooke Sr. and Evelyn (Hayes) Plunkett.
He was a graduate of Villanova University. He served in the United States Air Force in the 8th Bomb Squadron during the Korean War. He was active in Huntington Beach, Calif., in the Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife Nancy spent their retirement in Prescott, Ariz., where he was well known as the Course Marshall at Prescott Lakes Golf and Country Club and owner of the former Prescott Cleaners.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy (Pozdech) Plunkett.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses; Richard Plunkett, Kathleen Plunkett and her husband Jim Lehner, Thomas Plunkett and his wife Susanne, and Elizabeth Gregory and her husband Timothy; three stepchildren, James Olsen and his wife Ginger, Bonnie Olsen and her husband Arnold Starr, and Harold Olsen; grandchildren Destiny March, Evan Lehner, Nathan Lehner, Shannon (Plunkett) Simkus, Andrew Plunkett, Jessica Gregory, Taylor Gregory and Justin Gregory; three step-grandchildren Noah Starr, Melissa Olsen and Sarah Rose Olsen; and his sister Sharon. He was predeceased by his step-granddaughter, Chelsea Olsen and his brother, Ronald Plunkett.
