WESTERLUND, Vernon Dale

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, August 11, 2012 - Vernon Dale Westerlund passed away Aug. 4, 2012 at the age of 83 in Lake Havasu City. Vernon was born Sept. 15, 1928 in Red Lake Falls, Minn. to Oscar and Ethel Westerlund. Vernon worked with the elderly at a nursing home and as a beekeeper, both in Minnesota; he drove a truck for Red Lake County, Minn. and worked as a security guard under the London Bridge and at the Nautical Inn. He lived in Seattle, Wash. where he met his wife, of 47 years, Rolanna (Vickery) at a World’s Fair. Vernon loved fishing and playing solitaire. Vernon leaves behind his wife Rolanna; sons, Dale Westerlund, Wayne Westerlund Sr., Randy Westerlund and Wayne Westerlund; daughters, Sandy Miller and Barbara Slover; grandsons, Michael Westerlund, Wayne Westerlund Jr, Jason Slover, Tommy Slover and Jesse Slover; great-grandchildren, Elissa Westerlund, Megan Slover, Molly Slover and Hailey Slover; brothers, Raymond and Roger and his sister, Darlene.
