West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Tuesday, August 14, 2012 Raul "Sonny" M. Mendoza, 74, of Tolleson died Aug. 10, 2012. Mr. Mendoza was born April 27, 1938, in Tubac and moved to Tolleson in 1949. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1991, where he served for 26 years as an aircraft mechanic. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vera L. Mendoza; four sons, Raul of North Lawrence, Ohio, David and Mark of Phoenix and Sammy of Goodyear; two daughters, Christina of Phoenix and Cynthia of Buckeye; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Reyna Leyva of Tolleson and Celia Fontes of Phoenix. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave. in Phoenix. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary.
