The Rev. Kathleen Ann Pahl Anderson, 69, of Kingman, formerly of Brooklyn Park, Minn., passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012. Born Nov. 25, 1942, daughter of Tobias "Toby" and Lucille "Cindy" Pahl, she grew up in northeast Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High.
Kathy worked for Minneapolis public schools for several years and then returned to college to pursue her passion for helping others. She earned a degree in occupational therapy from St. Catherine's University in St. Paul, Minn. Using her degree, she served many clients at Cambridge State Hospital. Seeking a change, she accepted a position as a traveling occupational therapist and got to see and work in several other states, eventually finding her home in Kingman.
Kathy was a loving and devoted mother and wife. She was very compassionate, always finding the good in all. She loved spending time with family and friends, including Masonic organizations, Independent Order of Foresters, and Red Hat Society. She also loved traveling, reading, singing and animals, especially her cats. She was very spiritual and became a minister of the Spiritual Episcopal Church. She believed that upon passing, a soul's existence does not cease, just changes form. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Thom Carmody of Kingman; daughters, Vicki (David) Herfendal, Shari (Will) Hathaway, Wendi (Mike) Taflan, and Becki Williams; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Susan Morreale.
A celebration of life party will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Rough Ashlar Daylight Masonic Lodge, 2985 John L Ave. Please, no flowers. Instead, the family requests memorials be made to the Mohave County-Kingman Library.
