Harris "BUD" Leroy Glander was born on March 17, 1928 in Lake City Minnesota, to Elmer Glander of Wisconsin and Marie Butler of Minnesota. Mr. Glander was raised on a farm in Minnesota during his younger years, but later in life moved to Iowa where he started a family.
Mr. Glander then moved to Arizona where he has resided for over 50 years. During this time Mr. Glander worked numerous jobs with the railroad and also did masonry work for Andy Womack Construction Company at the Flamingo Hotel, then finally retiring from Super Service Sanitation as a Truck Driver.
In 1981, Mr. Glander was introduced to Elsie Jensen in Flagstaff, AZ and on June 16, 1983 they married. Mr. Glander also adopted Elsie's son, Phillip as his own. Mr. Glander and his family moved to Cameron, AZ where he resided until he went home to his Lord on August 11, 2012, at the Flagstaff Medical Center, Flagstaff, AZ. He had been fighting a brave battle against diabetes.
Mr. Glander is survived by his loving wife, Elsie, a sister Judy, children, Kathleen J. Easley, Penny L. Anderson, James Glander, Dana Beyl, Rodney Glander, Robin Glander, Judy Jones, Evelyn Begaye, and Phillip Glander, 13 grandchildren, and 2 or more great grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by his parents Elmer and Marie Glander, his father and mother in law, Sally and Nevy Jensen, a brother, Roger and 2 sisters, Sandra and Rosemarie.
Services will be at the Greymountain Bible Church on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. (MST) with the burial following at the Flagstaff Citizen's Cemetery.
The repast (reception) will be held at the Greymountain Bible Church. Services provided by Mr. Glander's friends at Desert Memorial Funeral Home, Tuba City, AZ.
