Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from August 19 to August 26, 2012 - Thelma Jane Dempsey, age 92, a former 27-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed peacefully at home with her family by her side, on Monday, August 13, 2012, in McCall, Idaho. She has earned her angel wings. Thelma was born on September 15, 1919, in Panora, Iowa, in an orphanage and was soon adopted by Frederica and Robert Gilbert. She resided in San Diego, Calif., and later spent 27 years in Bullhead City, Ariz. She was an active member of the Unity Church in Bullhead City, Ariz., where she served as Chaplin. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Dempsey, Sr. on June 15, 1999. She is survived by her son, George J. (Wilda) Dempsey of McCall, Idaho; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Thelma's name can be made to the Unity Church, P.O. Box 210086, Bullhead City, AZ 86439.
