Bryan “Thames” Colbert died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at Greenville, N.C. Bryan was born Feb. 4, 1929 at Miami, Ariz.

He attended grammar school and high school at Miami. He graduated from Oklahoma University in 1951. He served in the United States Navy for 31 years, and retired as Captain in 1978.

He is survived by two sons, Bryan and Roger; one stepson, James Meehan III; three daughters, Patricia Brentnall, Susan Olsen, and Nancy Rich; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Grannis.

His funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville, N.C.
