Daniel Paul Jones, 59, passed away on August 17th, 2012. He is survived by his parents Paul and Mary Jones; six siblings: Laraine, Donna, Cyndee, Steven, Greg, and Julie; his wife Nina; and six kids: Chris, Corey, Scott, Chad, Shaun, and Cassi. He leaves behind a growing legacy of 13 grandchildren who knew and loved him.
Dan was born May 30, 1953 in Phoenix, AZ. From his early childhood he developed a lifelong love of sports, motorcycles, the outdoors, and classic rock. Dan was raised in the Valley of the Sun while spending all the time he could in the Mogollon Rim and the White Mountains.
Between 1973 and 1975 he served an honorable mission for the LDS church in the London South, England Mission. Dan was sealed to the love of his life, Nina, for time and all eternity on December 15, 1977 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple.
On February 25, 1979 Dan and Nina started a family that would be the focus and devotion of all his days. Together, they raised 5 Eagle Scouts and a daughter who played collegiate basketball. One of the happiest periods of his life was while serving as the Bishop of a singles ward in Flagstaff, AZ. Dan will be remembered most for his love of service, dedication to his family, and his kindness to all.
Dan’s Memorial Services will be held Saturday August 25th at 10am with a viewing one hour prior in the LDS Church building at 1054 W. 2nd Place Mesa, AZ 85201.
