KANE, Cynthia

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/24/2012 Cynthia Shrel Kane, 63, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at her home Show Low following a lengthy illness. She was a well-welcomed Christmas blessing to her family, born Dec. 24, 1948, to her mother, Loyce in Los Angeles, Calif. Cynthia received her early education from Westminster Jr. High School in Orange County. Throughout her life, Cynthia loved animals of any kind. She took it upon herself to become a rescuer of animals and is single-handedly responsible for saving the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of animals over the past 50-plus years. She saw them for the beautiful creation of God that they were and many are grateful for the loving care and compassion she had for them. Cynthia moved to Show Low 18 years ago and, since moving here, she has truly appreciated the beauty of the White Mountains. She loved nature and everything found in it. She also loved the four seasons that the area had to offer. She was naturally a quiet person but those that knew her quickly came to love her and her ways. She will be missed by those she loved the most. Cynthia is survived by her mother, Loyce Donelson of Show Low; two sons: Eric and Darin; two brothers: Joe G. Mitola of Deer Field, New York and Joseph W. Fordyce of Costa Mesa, Calif. She was preceded in death by her dear step-father, Ken Donelson (Dec. 13, 2000) and was so grateful, throughout her life for the love and guidance he gave her and she truly considered him to be her “dad.” Private family services have already been held and her family is so appreciative for all of the prayers offered up on their behalf. Memorial contributions in Cynthia’s name to The White Mountain Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1975, Lakeside, AZ 85929 or the Humane Society of the White Mountains, 3212 N. Porter Mountain Road, Lakeside, AZ 85929 have been suggested by her family. Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel of Show Low handled arrangements.
