Vega, 84, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., departed this life Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. Mary was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Prescott, Ariz., to the late Juan and Adela Salazar. Mary was a proud and blessed wife, mother, Nana and Great-Nana who cherished her family above anything else. She raised her family in Bagdad, Ariz., where she worked as a postal clerk for 33 years. She was a dedicated Diamondbacks fan - never missed a game! Mary is preceded in death by her parents; sister Julia Martinez; and brothers William, David, Johnny and Peter Salazar. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, George; son George Jr.; daughter Patty and son-in-law Rene Perez; grandchildren Candi, Wesley, Renee, Ryan and Trevor; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ercie Frias, Esther Sanchez and Carolina Marquez. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with services starting at 10:30 a.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott, Ariz.
